How can turmeric cure / prevent arthritis?

It may be surprising that turmeric has always been used by the Chinese and Indians to treat rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Turmeric is still an important ingredient in Ayurveda, the ancient branch of Indian medicine. It is widely recognized as a detergent and has many uses, making this spice a natural panacea for many known ailments.

This 2012 study shows that consuming turmeric in a healthy manner is actually more effective than a complete cure for it in preventing arthritis.
